Frequently Asked Questions 

  • Yes, we are a dog friendly hotel with a dog friendly bar. Several of our rooms accept dogs, but please specify this at booking so we can ensure your room type is suitable and available. Dogs should not be left unattended in bedrooms and please be aware, a daily cleaning charge of £20 applies.

  • Check in is from 15:00-22:00. If you would like to check in before or after these hours, please contact our team in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate.

  • Checkout is at 11:00am. Late checkout may be possible, subject to availability. Please enquire at reception.

  • The hotel is non-smoking. It’s strictly prohibited to smoke in rooms and public areas.

  • Free parking for The Wensleydale Hotel is available in the town square directly in front of the hotel entrance. There is an ‘honesty box’ in both the main market square and the Swine Cross. Donations are appreciated towards the upkeep of the town. We suggest a contribution of £2.

  • Yes, we can hold your bags. Please contact reception to confirm storage availability.

     

  • At The Tack Room, we can cater to most special diets or allergies. Please contact us in advance to discuss any allergies or dietary requirements.

  • Yes, we provide free Wi-Fi for guests of the hotel, restaurant & bar.

  • Please let a member of staff know if you plan on returning late as the main entrance may be closed. The night entrance is located off Kirkgate which is on the left-hand side of the hotel. The door can be opened with the second key on our fob.

  • The closest railway station is Northallerton which is on the main line LNER, Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton DL7 8AN. From there, you can take a taxi to Middleham.

  • Breakfast is served between 8:30am and 10am.

  • The Tack Room Restaurant & Bar is open all day, serving our morning menu from 10am to 12pm (except Sundays), lunch menu between 12pm and 2pm, and dinner 6pm to 9pm (Wednesdays to Sundays). Sunday Lunch is served in The Tack Room from 12pm to 4pm.

  • The Wensleydale Hotel is the perfect base to explore the best attractions in the Yorkshire Dales. Middleham is famous for its Castle and the link to Richard III, as well as having a thriving Horse Racing Community with over a dozen local trainers. There is a wealth of things to do and see in the area.
